Can I grow hardy succulents indoors?Updated 3 years ago

It is certainly possible to grow hardy succulents indoors, however, they typically aren't happy about it. They tend to not develop their brightest colors indoors. They also are more susceptible to rot when grown indoors. Although we don't recommend growing hardy succulents indoors, there are a couple of tips that will help you be more successful with it.


  • Be extra careful not to overwater
  • Use a very gritty soil (like Bonsai Jack soil)
  • Give plenty of light, either with an unobstructed south facing window or a grow light
  • Ventilate the air around it using a fan
