Deer: signs & treatmentsUpdated 2 years ago
Although most succulents are resistant to deer, it's still possible for them to be a nuisance. A desperate deer will eat whatever they can get their hooves on and even a content deer will try anything once. Don't be surprised if you find your plants being nibbled on from time to time.
Signs
- Missing leaves from one side of the plant
- Heavily damaged leaves
- Uprooted plants
Treatments
- Electric fences. Apply peanut butter to small sections of the fence to ensure deer get a shock
- Cayenne pepper is found in most grocery stores and can be sprinkled on plants dry to deter deer
